About Us

Private Schools Athletic Association

The PSAA is an organization founded in 1986 by 5 Schools (Martin Luther High School, Suffolk Lutheran High School, Our Saviour Lutheran High School, McBurney High School, and Pilgrim Christian) to provide private/parochial high school athletic programs with fair and balanced competition.

The purposes of this organization are as followed:
1) To develop and foster athletic standards of excellence for boys and girls among its member schools.
2) To promote and cultivate the ideas of sportsmanship, good citizenship and moral integrity by means of athletic participation and competition.
3) To improve athletic opportunities by promoting uniform standards in the arrangement of interscholastic programs among member schools.
4) To foster good, sound athletic programs for boys and girls as an effective ans contributive part of the educational programs of out schools.
5) To represent the member schools of the association with other athletic educational agencies in the determination of policies and programs affecting interscholastic athletics in secondary school.
6) To conduct tournaments and playoffs and provide a forum for discussion among its members.

The PSAA represents over 25 private/parochial high schools in Nassau, Queens, Manhattan, Staten Island, Brooklyn, and the Bronx.
